RENEWAL OF TRADE MARK

A trade mark registration may be renewed every ten years for indefinitely.

You can reduce the classes of goods and /or services from your registration one must request deletion at least three weeks before the due date for renewal.

You can pay renewal fees from 12 months before the renewal due date or up to six months after the date expires.

If you do not pay the renewal fees on time, you may renew the registration plus any applicable extension fees.

MAINTAIN OR AMEND YOUR TRADE MARK

You may request to change the details of the owners and reduce the classes of goods and serivces from your registration at any time.

Amendments can be made to the following:
Changes to the name of the appllicant
Changes to the address of the applicant
Changes to the address for service
Changes to the representation of the trade mark
Deleting goods and services
Transferring a class of goods and services
Adding or changing endorsements

OPPOSITION OF TRADE MARK

Trademark can be opposed after registration. It is important to make sure you receive notices from the third party or the registrar for any oppostion.

There is a strict time frame to comply with notices from trade mark opposition.
